HAPPY THANKSGIVING

We wish all of our friends a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Turkey day is fun for those that don’t eat meat or poultry. We have always found many recipes to accommodate those people. It can still be fun. The dogs are staying home and will have to enjoy each others company. it is difficult to go someplace with all three of them. Behavior is still an issue with Sophie.  I don’t want to put them in jeopardy at someone else’s house. I  have gates to keep them from the front door.  They watched the dog show and Sophie enjoyed it. She reacted to every dog as it came walking to the camera. She also reacted to my cooking and started barking. The girls had their hourly game of tug of war and 011006

My dogs love winter squash. it is very similar in taste to sweet potatoes. Mom loves the seeds inside and bakes them for herself. She does share the squash.

The gate started when there were five dogs running to the door and it became impossible to keep all of them corralled. The gate has stayed.Sophie has knocked it down several times, but it does right back up. Mom says that the gate keeps her in shape when she has to get over it several times a time.

I have pulled wire out of her mouth twice this week. I think that it might be the twist ties, but I am not sure where she would get them Leave it to Sophie.

We had Thanksgiving at my mom’s this year. It was wonderful not having to host but we left the dogs at home and it did feel a little weird. They are our 2nd wave of “children” after all. 🙂
