HAPPY GOTCHA DAY- SOPHIE

It is hard to believe that Sophie has been here for one year. Thanks to Jackie Szegedy for driving her from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach and for her first mom breeder, Ruthye Silver for this beautiful girl.
It has been challenging having a puppy in the house. The older ones have been very accepting of her to a point. She has totally taken over all of their toys and me.002003
Sophie on her first day.
I am still not sure that she knows her name. She hasn’t learned to walk on leash properly. It is impossible to walk her with Sidney and Shelby. She is all over the place outside and is frightened by everything- leaves, birds, cars, people, etc.
Her good traits are simple. If you are sitting down, she will be in your lap, staring at your eyes, and licking your face. Her nose always winds up in your mouth. She loves having people come to the house. She is in their faces too.She has learned that the computer makes a certain sound when I am finished and she heads out of the computer room. She is quiet all night long. She has been that way from day one.She can tell when you are about to give her the favorite treat. They each get a piece of four different treats each night. She totally flips out when I open the bag that contains the Blue Dog Bakery peanut flavored Softees.
It has been an experience. Puppies are not for the faint of heart, but it just takes one kiss to erase all of the problems.006
Sidney and Shelby are surrounding their little sister. They do love her. Here’s to many more years and hopefully some learning along the way.

Our fur babies are such a blessing! What would we do without them. I’ve got to admit, I’ve been having puppy fever lately. There’s just nothing like a puppy baby in the house!

Caution!!!! Think twice before you get a puppy. A slightly older one is so much better. I got Shelby at 10 months and she was so much easier than a three month old. She was trained in a day and a pleasure. Sophie has been a challenge.

OMD! We cannot believe it’s been a WHOLE YEAR already! We just LOVE hearing about you and we know that the looooong list of positive traits your mom wrote about, make up for your short list of not-so-positive traits.
Have a wonderful day and we hope you get an extra Blue Dog Barkery PB Softee to celebrate – they sound delicious by-the-way.
    BIG licks,
    Wally & Sammy

We have heard special used in many different contexts. Special like the Church Lady on Saturday Night Live? I am dating myself with that reference.
