Visit to the vet

Sidney had an appointment to get his teeth cleaned today. It was for an anesthesia free procedure. We tried to get out of the house without Shelby, but it was not happening. The dentist took Sidney  back to the exam room and she returned with him within five minutes. She said that his back  teeth needed very deep cleaning and that she would not be able to do the procedure and we would have to come back for an anesthesia procedure. Sidney was happy to get out of there, but he doesn’t know that he is going back on August19th. He will have to spend the day. With the anesthesia free, you wait for them and they are finished in half an hour. Sidney has never been away from home for that long a period of time. To be continued…

Oh, we can tell Sidney isn’t going to like that, being gone from Shelby and Mom, we got a feeling there’s going to a pup with a Scottitude when he gets home!

It is really wonderful. The dentist must have a great deal of patience. The last time both Sid and Rocky had their teeth cleaned at the same time. I think that they swaddle them and sit with them in their laps. You even get a report card for the dog. Both Sid and Rocky were given A+ for their behavior. HARD TO BELIEVE! It is half the cost of anesthesia cleaning and you do not need blood work before hand. They are specially trained and come to the vets office twice a month.

When one of us goes to the vet, the other two go for “moral support” and get treats too. That way going to the vet isn’t always an awful experience. Let the other dog do the pain and I’ll reap the gain. If your vet isn’t cool with this, get another vet.

They love to see the two of them. Our vet is great. I’ve tried almost every vet in area and she is the best and most compassionate.
