Throwback Thursday

Corky, the second, on the day of her rescue,Dec. 12, 1992, hiding in the pool area. I had not told Michele that I had adopted this beautiful rescue. Michele was coming home from college for Christmas break. Needless to say it was a wonderful afternoon and many tears were shed. We had not had a dog since Corky 1 had crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 1978.

She was found on the street and the lady that took her in had a very large dog and kept the Scottie on her back patio. I saw the adoption ad and was down to her house in 20 minutes. Poor Corky had a whole bunch of ailments, but she lived the longest 16+ years out of all of my Scotties.

Moms love mush and I get to have a wonderful experience each week looking through the old pictures.

My peeps don’t recycle names. They can understand those peeps who do and They have no problem with it but that’s not Their style. There’s only gonna be one Kyla and the usual response from everyone else is “thank goodness”.but I don’t understand that.

You are one of a kind Kyla.. I knew that I would be calling her Corky because that was the name of the first Scottie and they looked identical. It would have been constant, so I just reused the name. Now all of the following Scotties have been named after loved dogs of friends. Shelby came with her name and I think it would have been confusing for her to get a new name.

It was so devastating to lose the first one that I thought that I could never have another dog. My husband had just died and the kids wet back to college leaving me by myself. I thought that a Scottie would be perfect and she was got me through all of the bad times.

Sidney is number 10 and Shelby is number 11. I can’t imagine life without a Scottie.
