A VISIT FROM DIXIE

Dixie spent the day with us. Her Dad has been in the hospital and we wanted her to have some company today. The three of them wound up in the X-pen. There was a great deal of thunder and torrential rains this afternoon. Sidney does not handle weather events and goes to his safe place. This time he had company. The door is always open and they come and go as they want. There is safety in numbers.

Stuart at Scottie Chronicles has a Thundershirt and says that helps him a lot. I have a tight t-shirt and that helps me. Bentley

Some of the previous Scotties were immune to the sights and sounds of weather. I had two that were wandering around in the house during a hurricane while the wind was howling at over 110 miles per hour. The others were hiding in the closet shaking.

They all get along very well. Dixie put Sid in his place the first time that she was here and he learned quickly. Shelby loves everyone.

We love having Dixie and she has been left alone for so many hours everyday. Her Dad has been in the hospital for over a month and her mom works and goes to visit dad after working. I usually stop over to walk her twice a day, but felt she needed some company.

It is always better to have a companion. Sid was very unhappy being a solo dog when Drew died. Shelby brought him out of his funk.
